這是因為 「do 某人 good」 是英語慣用語。

你會把 good 和 well 相提並論，是因為一般這兩字都有形容 「好」 的意思。 不過這裡 good 不是在形容，它是名詞，表示 「有幫助的事情」。

「do 某人 good」 意思是 「對某人有幫助、有好處」，所以：

Studying English does you good.
鑽研英語對你有幫助。

good 前面還可以用表示程度的形容詞：

Exercise more. It will do you some good.
多鍛鍊。 鍛鍊對你會有些好處。

以詞類來說， well 當名詞一般表示 「井」，沒有 do 某人 well 的說法。
