In mild cases of bronchiolitis the parents should be given an explanation of the condition and advice concerning feeding to ensure the infant is hydrated adequately. In this instance the nurse should inform the family that it may be more appropriate to feed the infant a smaller amount of milk more frequently than normal. This will ensure that, while the infant receives an adequate level of fluid, they only have to drink and digest a small amount at each feed and will not become increasingly tired.
